Upcoming Events

 Dear Alumni,

We are pleased to invite you to our General Assembly which will take place on Thursday, June 3, 2010 as of 18:15 onwards at the Center for Fine Arts or BOZAR, Rue Ravensteinstraat 23 at 1000 Brussels.

Your presence will be highly appreciated, as this year’s agenda features the election of a new President. Indeed, after 3 years of service to the Club, time has come to pass the presidency to my successor. It has been 3 years of excitement and fun, and I am graceful and feel privileged having been able to serve such an outstanding group of people. I would highly appreciate if you would join us in selecting the new committee and President and to celebrate the transition together. Alumni interested in joining the committee can submit their candidacy to me or Evelyne.

Next to the General Assembly of our Association, we got the privilege of being invited for an exclusive guided tour of the magnificent buildings of the Centre for Fine Arts Brussels/BOZAR and of the current temporary exhibition: Laurent Ney – Shaping Forces, a beautiful exposition on architecture and structures.

We are also kindly invited by Mr. Paul Dujardin, Manager Director of BOZAR and personal advisor to European Commission President Barroso on cultural affairs, for an exclusive visit of the art deco Royal Salon, where he will share with us his views on European cultural union and how BOZAR is increasingly playing a pivotal role in this respect.

Partners are welcome. We encourage you to register today and join us for a promising evening!

On February 25, we had our annual Business Forecast Dinner in the splendid premises of the Brussels Stock Exchange. Over 160 business leaders attended an exciting evening which offered interesting insights on the global economic outlook. Our three outstanding speakers, Howard Gutman, Luc Bertrand and Jan Loeys, kept the audience’s attention during their personal reflections on the challenges and threats we are currently facing. The subsequent Q&A and panel debate provided a nice intellectual dessert on the question “is the glass half full or half empty”? The overall message I could take away was that we will be facing significant challenges in the near future, but that the only way out of the crisis will be to think entrepreneurial, by taking the initiative to start investing again and looking forward towards opportunities for growth. I leave this as a nice objective for each of us to strive towards this year. Thanks for the speakers, participants and organisers of this magnificent jubilee edition of the Business Forecast Dinner. To see a snapshot of the atmosphere of the evening, please look at some pictures through this link:  Business Forecast Dinner 2010.  Looking forward to welcoming you at our next events!

Best regards
